Exclusive Preview of the New BMW i8 Ad

This is BMW's new ad for the BMW i8. The film was shot in the desert near Almeria, in southern Spain by acclaimed film director Tarsem.




The BMW i8 is a plug-in hybrid sports car. The car combines BMW eDrive technology and a BMW TwinPower Turbo 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine.

Luke Aker’s 1996 Nissan Maxima

Film-maker Luke Aker decided to put up his beloved 1996 Nissan Maxima on Craiglist with a humorous video accompanying it - "Luxury Defined" as he put it.



It was so good, Nissan actually decided to buy it and later restored it to it's former glory and will be displayed at their North America’s headquarters.

Car magnets - effective and affordable advertising

In today's economy, it's difficult for small businesses to get off the ground. Advertising doesn't come cheap, especially when belts are being cinched and pockets are nearly empty. Car magnets are great advertising solution for small businesses.

The new Audi 3.0 BiTDI engine is the most powerful six-cylinder diesel engine from Audi and now available for the A6 Saloon, A6 Avant and A7 Sportback. It will also be available in the A6 allroad later this year.

Being well groomed will take you places

How often have we heard the saying "the first impression is the last impression". Well, a survey commissioned by Gillette and conducted by Harris Interactive, confirms that it is true.

One of the most critical grooming cue for making a good first impression was having a clean-shaven face. Other no nos include body odour or sweat stains. Also make sure you wear good fitting, nicely pressed and and appropriate clothing as well.

Apparently it's not just the first impression that matters. Being well groomed may very well help you in your career and get the sports car of your dreams. I am not joking. According to the survey, most HR professionals agreed that well-groomed employees do better in the corporate race as compared to those who don't take care of how they look.

So if you are one of those who never bothered to look in the mirror while going to work, you should be worried. Especially in these bad economic times.

However, hope is on the way. You may not only keep your job but get that Ferrari as well. Gillette has launched Gillette Career Advantage on their website and you can get expert advice from career expert Mark Jeffries and GQ style correspondent, Brett Fahlgren.

The Dacia revolution

Check out the ad for the Dacia Logan. See whether you can recognise the prominent revolutionary figures portrayed in the clip. I heard it caused quite a stir.



The "revolution" apparently refers to the fact that, due to it's aggressive pricing, the Logan MCV is a real "car for the people".

For your information, Dacia is a subsidiary of Renault and the car is manufactured Dacia's automobile plant in Mioveni, Romania.

New Ford Focus ad

Advertising agency Ogilvy, has come up with a really innovative ad for the new Ford Focus. It involves an orchestra playing instruments built from real car parts.

Dodge Nitro T-shirt contest sponsors disappear

I finally realized I was scammed after repeated e-mails to the contact person and the company who sponsored my Dodge Nitro T-shirt contest, remain unanswered.

The winners of the contest will not go empty handed. I have already sent them a t-shirt each from my own 'Auto Enthusiast' online shop. I really apologise for not being able to deliver the promised prizes. This is a big lesson for me.



Read the whole series of events here, right from the start when a lady named Corrie Zielinski contacted me. I later found out that she was the Online Brand Manager of an online advertising company called New Media Strategies.
